Prerequisites

  • Role: Owner or Manager with Menu permissions

  • Menu already uploaded or created in Tapp

  • Stable internet connection

Step-by-step

Mobile app (iOS & Android)

  1. Open your menu
Dashboard › Menu › Edit menu brings you to the offerings list where each item shows ✎ Edit and 🗑 Delete icons.

  2. Manage categories
Long press on an existing category to open up the categories modal - From here you can edit, delete and add new categories to be used for menu items.

  3. Manage menu settings
Tap the Gear icon in the top right of the Edit. menu page, to toggle the visibility of Title, Description, Tags and Duration for all items. This will affect what is shown to customers - it will not delete the input fields for items. Alternatively, you can simply leave the fields blank for specific items, if you want to make exceptions.

  4. Choose an item
Tap ✎ Edit next to the dish you want to change. The Edit item screen opens with all current values pre-filled: image, title, description, category, price, duration, VAT, tags, and variations.

  5. Make your changes

    • Tap any text field to type.

    • Use dropdowns for Category, Duration units or VAT.

    • Add or remove Tags and Variations with + Add / ✖︎ controls. The Update item button turns active as soon as a valid change is detected (Bottom of the screen).

  6. Update the product photo (optional)
Tap the image thumbnail (or placeholder) to pick a new photo from your gallery; an ✖︎ appears for quick removal.

  7. Save or discard
Tap Update item to commit updates (Scroll to bottom of the screen).
If you need to cancel, use the back arrow; unsaved edits are discarded.

  8. Delete an item (optional)
Tap 🗑 icon to instantly delete an item - removing it from the list.

Web back-office

  1. Navigate to Menu
After signing in, select Menu from the sidebar. Category tabs load with an ✎ Edit icon beside each category, on the right side.

  2. Open the editor
Click the ⋮-three dots in the top right corner of the item image, and select ✎ Edit details on a item. The Edit item page appears, showing breadcrumbs Menu › Edit details, a full form (image, category, price, VAT, etc.) and Save / Cancel actions (Delete and Stock management is also shown at the bottom of this screen)

  3. Edit fields

    • Single-click any input or dropdown to change its value; the system validates on the fly and activates Save changes once inputs are valid.

    • Use + Add in Tags or Variations to create new ones, or use ✖︎ to remove an existing one.

  4. Upload or replace an image
Click the image placeholder or thumbnail to select a file from your computer; the preview updates immediately.

  5. Save or cancel
Click Save changes to apply changes, or click the breadcrumb Menu to return without saving.

  6. Delete an item (optional)
Press Delete, confirm in the warning dialog, and the item is removed from the menu list.

Troubleshooting

  • Save button stays inactive - Mandatory fields—Category, Price, VAT, or Title—are empty or invalid. Fill all required fields and ensure the price uses a valid number format (up to two decimal places).

  • Cannot delete the last category (mobile) - Tapp prevents orphan items. Add another category first or keep at least one category.

  • Image won’t upload - The file may exceed supported size or use an unsupported format. Resize or convert the image to JPEG or PNG, then try again.

FAQ

  • Can I bulk-edit multiple items?
Not yet. Edit items one at a time on either platform.

  • Do edits sync instantly?
Yes. Changes saved on web or mobile appear across all devices after a quick refresh.

  • What if I accidentally delete an item?
Deletion is permanent. Re-add the item manually using + Add item.
