# Understand Live Floor

> Read room filters, map or list layouts, table states, incoming bookings, and active sessions.

Live Floor is the operational view of physical booking tables. It combines configured rooms and layouts with active table sessions and today's pending or confirmed bookings so the team can see what is free, incoming, seated, or offline.

## Who can do this?

**Owners, Managers, and Staff** may operate Live Floor and table sessions. Room, table, and booking configuration remains Owner/Manager-only wherever its API requires that role.

## Where to do it

In the Management web app, open **Rooms and tables → Live Floor**. Select a table for its card or session. The Management mobile app provides the same core floor, filter, map, table-action, extension, and session-detail areas.

## Steps

1. Open **Rooms and tables** and choose **Live Floor** for the current store.
2. Filter by a room or show all rooms. If at least one room has a saved layout, choose map or list; the preference is kept on the device.
3. Read the table tone: green is free, amber has an incoming booking, red is occupied by an active session, and grey is offline.
4. Read the guest or booking row and time indicator. A booking end time alone does not free a table; only ending the active session changes physical occupancy.
5. Select a table for the actions valid in its state: seat now, open session, extend time, free up, or mark an overdue unseated booking no-show.

## Platform notes

Web and mobile use the same session endpoints. POS orders are anchored through the session ID. Guest bookings from the guest app can appear as incoming floor bookings, but guests cannot operate Live Floor or sessions.

## Market notes

The flow is the same in GB and Germany. Live Floor sends a local time reference for the store; bookings and sessions are shown in that local operating time. Currency differences affect orders, not occupancy logic.

This reflects the product on 17 July 2026. The active session is authoritative: an elapsed booking window does not end physical occupancy, and only a successful session action changes the table state.

## Troubleshooting

* The floor refreshes on a poll while its clock labels tick more frequently. If a recent action is missing, wait for mutation success and refresh rather than repeating it.
* A configured booking can be shown on a free table before seating. That is a reservation window, not an active table session.
