# Find products and switch menu views

> Search, filter, sort and switch between list and grid views on the Menu page.

Use Menu to find an item by its name, description, category, tags or price and choose the layout that best fits the task.

## Who can do this?

The category and item read endpoints authorize **Owners, Managers and Staff**. Editing permissions are narrower and are covered in the relevant guides.

## Where to do it

Choose **Menu** in the Management Admin App and confirm the active shop.

## Find an item

1. Select **All** to search across categories, or select a category tab to narrow the result.
2. Enter text in the search field. The local search index includes item title, description, category, tags and formatted price.
3. In list view, select a sortable heading such as name, description, category or price. Select it again to reverse direction.
4. Use the list/grid controls to switch presentation. The selected layout does not change product data.
5. Move through pages when there are more than 20 results.
6. Select an item to inspect its details.

An eye-off indicator means an item is hidden from the guest website because either the item or its category is not guest-visible. That does not necessarily mean it is unavailable to Staff POS.

List view exposes separate fields and sortable headings; grid view prioritizes cards and their action menus. With **All**, the page combines item queries from every category, so a large menu can remain in a loading state until those category requests finish.

## Platform notes

Management web reads the canonical menu from the API. The same menu feeds the web POS, management mobile and guest ordering, but each surface applies its own visibility and availability rules. Search and view mode on this page are management controls and do not change guest presentation.

## Market notes

Prices use the active shop's currency. GB and German tax choices are stored on the items and must be edited through the market-aware VAT picker.

## Troubleshooting

If **All** appears to keep loading, wait for the category requests to finish or select one category to narrow the query. If an expected item is absent, clear search and filters, check pagination and confirm the active shop.
