# Navigate the Admin App and switch shops

> Use the main navigation and shop picker without carrying one shop's context into another.

Use the left navigation to move between product areas and the shop picker to change the active shop. Every store-scoped page then loads data for that selection.

## Who can do this?

**Owners, Managers and Staff** can navigate shops for which their authenticated token contains a role. The pages and actions available after switching still depend on that role. Owners can also see the add-shop action; selecting a shop does not grant new permission.

## Where to do it

Open any authenticated page in the Management Admin App. The side menu contains the shop picker, main product navigation and role-filtered administration links.

## Navigate and switch

1. Select a product area in the side menu, such as **Overview**, **History**, **Menu** or **Point of sale**.
2. To change location, open the shop picker at the top of the side menu.
3. Select a shop from your available memberships.
4. Wait for the current page to reload its store-scoped data before taking an action.
5. Confirm the selected shop name before editing a menu, taking payment or reviewing history.

The Overview link also remains active while you browse the advanced Analytics pages. Administration links are filtered separately: Settings is owner-only in the side menu, Rooms and tables is available to Owners and Managers, and device management follows its own capability check.

## Platform notes

This navigation describes management web. The Management Native App has its own navigation, but it uses the same store memberships. POS actions always belong to the active shop; an in-progress web payment is returned to the cart if the selected shop changes.

## Market notes

Switching between a GB and German shop changes the active locale, currency, timezone, tax regime and market-aware data used by downstream pages. It does not change your role. Confirm both shop name and market before tax-sensitive menu or payment work.

## Permission note

Some main navigation links are displayed more broadly than their APIs allow. Seeing a link is not permission to use the data behind it. When the API rejects a request, do not retry with another shop unless you actually hold the required role there.

## Troubleshooting

If a page shows the previous shop's data immediately after switching, wait for its store-scoped queries or reload the page and recheck the picker. An authorization error after switching means the role for that shop is insufficient, not that selection failed.
