# Offer your shift to a teammate

> Make your assigned shift available for a teammate to request, or take back an open offer.

If you want a teammate to take one of your shifts, offer it from your schedule. You remain assigned until someone requests it and an Owner or Manager approves the transfer. Offering a shift does not cancel it or remove you from the schedule.

## Who can do this?

Staff, Owners and Managers can offer their own assigned shifts from the personal work area. You cannot offer a shift after checking in while that attendance record remains valid. An Owner or Manager must approve a teammate's request before the assignment changes.

## Where to do it

In the mobile app, open **Work**, choose **Schedule**, then open **My schedule**. Find the shift you want to offer and tap its row.

Owners and Managers can start from the home screen: choose **Work → My work**, then **Schedule**. Choose your personal schedule to offer your own shift. **Manage shifts** opens team planning instead.

## Offer the shift

1. Check the date, hours and work role in the shift details.
2. Read the **Offer this shift** message. It explains that you stay scheduled until a teammate's request is approved.
3. Select **Offer to team** and wait for the result.
4. Return to your schedule and check that the shift is shown as **Offered**.
5. Wait for an Owner or Manager to approve a teammate's request. Check your schedule again to confirm a transfer; do not treat an open offer as permission to miss the shift.

This offers your assigned place to the team. It does not choose a particular replacement or automatically swap one of their shifts with yours.

## Take back an open offer

If you decide to keep the shift, open the offered shift again. Read **Take back this offer**, then select **Take back offer**. Once the action succeeds, the offer is no longer available for teammates to request. Pending requests for that offer are rejected, and you stay assigned.

If you later offer the shift again, teammates need to request the new offer. Previous requests do not carry over.

You can only take back an offer while it is still open. If a transfer has already been approved, speak to your Owner or Manager about any further change.

## Platform notes

These steps describe the personal schedule in the mobile app. Teammates request an offer from **Open shifts**, and managers review those requests separately. Checking in closes your open offer and rejects pending requests for it, so it cannot be transferred while you continue working under that assignment.

## Market notes

The flow applies in Great Britain and Germany. Compare the date and hours with your shop's schedule, especially when a shift ends the following day or you are viewing it from another time zone. Offering a shift does not itself record leave or change recorded working hours.

## Troubleshooting

* If Tapp says you already checked in, contact your Owner or Manager if the attendance record is incorrect. Do not change a valid record just to make the offer possible.
* If an offer cannot be taken back, refresh your schedule and check whether it has already been transferred or closed.
* If the action reports an error, reopen the shift before trying again. Check whether it is already marked **Offered** or whether the offer has disappeared.
* If the saved assignment remains unclear, speak to your Owner or Manager. Contact Tapp support if the app continues to show an error.
