Setting up a New shop (location)

Create an additional shop location—from name to menu—in one seamless flow.

Prerequisites

  • Owner role (the + Add store button is hidden from Staff/Manager accounts)

  • Latest version of the Tapp mobile app installed

  • Stable internet connection

Step-by-step

  1. Start from the Dashboard
    Under the Currently viewing drop-down press + Add store at the bottom of the list.

  2. Name your shop
    The app opens asks you to confirm the display name. Edit the pre-filled field or type a new name, then tap Looks good to proceed.
    Tip: the name must be 2–100 characters; empty or too-short inputs trigger inline errors.

  3. Pick your industry
    Search or scroll the What’s your industry? screen, select the best match, then tap Next.

  4. Highlight what makes you unique
    Choose up to five predefined keywords (e.g., Family-Owned Business, Pet-Friendly). The Next button activates after the first choice and disables once five are picked.

  5. Generate & edit your shop description
    Tapp’s AI drafts a paragraph from your keywords. Review or tweak it on Set shop description, then tap Next to save.

  6. Upload or skip your menu
    Capture a photo, upload a file, or tap Skip & do manually later on Upload your menu.

  7. Review AI-processed menu items (optional)
    After a successful upload, AI categorises your dishes; adjust details on Menu items customization before tapping Looks Good to continue.

  8. Watch the “Almost there” loader (If shown)
    A progress bar tracks store creation; if everything finishes, Meet shop name activates and takes you to a welcome preview.

  9. Finish on “Ready to explore”
    Copy your store link, get QR codes, view the live page, or tap Go to the dashboard to return—your new store now appears in the Currently viewing list.

Troubleshooting

+ Add store isn’t visible - Check you’re logged in as Owner; the button is role-restricted

Stuck on loader (> 2 min) - The app shows “The setup is taking longer than usual”. Wait a moment or tap Retry later

Shop shows as Pending shop - Re-open Currently viewing, tap Pending store to resume setup where you left off

FAQ

Can I complete the shop setup later?
Yes—closing the app mid-setup marks the entry as Pending shop. Selecting + Add new shop continues from the last completed step.

Do I have to upload a menu now?
No. Choose Skip & do manually later on the upload screen and you can add items anytime from the Menu tab.

Will staff see the new store automatically?
Staff linked to your business will find the location in their Currently viewing list once setup, if they have been added to the shop (location).

Can I close a shop (location)?
To close a shop (location) or your entire account, please reach out to our support.
