Manage Shop Settings

Shop Settings (mobile) and Settings (web) let owners control payment methods, menu-item fields, and checkout rules for the specific store you’re currently viewing.

Prerequisites

  • Owner role – the Store Settings tab is visible only to owners.

  • Select the right location in the Currently viewing drop-down
    before opening Settings.

  • Latest Tapp app for iOS or Android, or access to the Tapp back-office
    web portal.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the settings screen

    • Mobile app: tap the Settings tab in the bottom navigation
      bar (it appears once you log in as an owner).

    • Web portal: click Settings in the left-hand menu.

  2. Browse the three setting categories

Payment

Toggles here switch entire payment methods on or off for the store:

Toggle Default What happens when you turn it OFF

Tap to Pay on iPhone

Off

Disables Tap to Pay from checkout for all devices until re-enabled.

Tap to Pay on Android

On

Removes Tap to Pay from checkout for all devices.

Cash

On

Removes the Cash button from the “Select payment method” screen.

Changes require Save changes; Cancel discards edits.

Menu

Choose which fields staff see when they add or edit menu items. All
toggles start On; switching one Off hides that field in every
product card.

Control options shown to customers at the end of the sale.

Toggle Default Notes

Allow tips

On

Removes the tipping line from checkout when Off.

Allow ratings

On

Hides the post-purchase rating prompt when Off.

As with Payment and Menu, tap Save changes (mobile) or Save (web)
to apply, or Cancel to revert.

Troubleshooting

  • Settings tab missing on mobile – double-check you’re signed in with
    an Owner account; staff and managers can’t access Shop Settings.

  • Toggle does nothing after saving – make sure you are editing the
    correct location; switch stores via Currently viewing and try
    again.

  • Tap to Pay on iPhone alert – open the app on an iOS device first,
    accept Apple’s Terms & Conditions, then enable the toggle.

FAQ

Does changing a payment toggle affect staff devices immediately?
Yes. Once you save, the method appears or disappears for everyone.

Can I customise fields for just one product?
No. Menu toggles apply store-wide—either the field is visible for all
items or hidden for all.

Where do I add VAT or pricing rules?
Those live under Menu › Edit Item screens, not in Shop Settings.
