Add a New Booking

Reserve a table for walk-ins or phone enquiries from anywhere—right inside Tapp’s web back-office or the staff mobile app.

Prerequisites

  • Web DashboardOwner, Manager or Staff account with access to Bookings in the sidepanel.

  • Mobile AppOwner, Manager or Staff login and the Dashboard › Bookings tile

Step-by-step

Web Dashboard

  1. Go to Bookings
    In the left navigation, click Bookings to open today’s list.

  2. Start a new reservation
    Select Add booking. The Create booking page opens.

  3. Fill in booking details

    • Date – pick a day from the calendar

    • Time slot – choose an available start time

    • Duration – select visit length (if enabled)

    • Party size – set the number of guests (if enabled)

    • Guest info – enter name plus phone or email (both optional
      but at least one is required)
      Optional: add notes for special requests.

  4. Confirm
    Click Confirm booking. A success toast appears, the booking moves
    to Confirmed, and the guest receives an SMS / email confirmation.

Mobile App

  1. Open Bookings
    From the dashboard, tap Bookings.

  2. Add a new booking
    Press the Add new booking button at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Choose party size (If enabled by owner)
    Scroll the number picker, then tap Continue.

  4. Set date & time

    • Tap Date → choose a day

    • Tap Time Slot → pick an available time

    • (If shown) open Duration → select length; the app blocks options
      that exceed opening hours.
      Tap Continue.

  5. Review & add guest details
    Enter guest name, phone and/or email, plus optional notes. Invalid or
    empty required fields are highlighted. Tap Continue.

  6. Finish
    The app creates the booking in Confirmed status, sends the guest a
    confirmation, and shows a Booking confirmed! screen with an
    optional Order now shortcut.

Troubleshooting

  • “This field cannot be empty” - Ensure every required field has a value and either phone or email is provided.

  • Time slot missing - Verify the selected date; past times and slots outside opening hours are hidden.

  • Duration dropdown not visible - The owner may have disabled guest-selected durations in Booking settings.

FAQ

Does a new booking always go straight to “Confirmed”?
Yes. On both web and mobile, confirming the form immediately places the
booking in confirmed status and notifies the guest.

Can I edit a booking after creating it?
Absolutely—open the booking card, choose Edit, adjust the fields, and
save your changes.

What if the guest refuses to share contact details?
The system needs at least one contact method. Provide either a phone
number or an email address to complete the booking.
