Create a New Order

Start a tab in seconds—either enter a custom amount or pick items from the menu—then send the ticket to production and move on to the next table.

Prerequisites

  • You’re signed in as Staff, Manager or Owner.

  • The Your register tab is open.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the New order screen

    • Tap New order. A header reads New order with a Back arrow.

    • Two options appear: the Fast charge tab (selected by default) and a Products button for the full menu.

A. Fast charge flow

  1. Enter the amount

    • Tap the £0.00 field and type the total; the app auto-formats the value right-to-left (typing 123 shows £1.23).

    • If you need tax other than the default VAT 20 %, tap the VAT 20 % toggle → pick a preset or enter a custom rate on the VAT rates screen, then Confirm.

  2. Add a description (optional)

    • Tap Add description to open a text modal, enter the note, and save—your text appears beneath the amount and is useful for identifying charges on receipts.

  3. Add to the basket

    • Hit + to drop the item into the order. The Basket icon lights up with a counter (e.g., 2).

    • Need to adjust later? From Basket you can + / – quantities or tap the trash-can icon to remove the line.

B. Products flow

  1. Browse the menu

    • Tap Products to open the store’s category tabs.

    • Scroll horizontally through categories; the item list scrolls with you. If a category is empty the app shows “No items available in this category.”

  2. Add items

    • No variations: tap + next to an item—one unit is added and the button changes to show the count and a .

    • With variations/extras: tap the item to open its details modal. Pick extras, adjust quantity with + / trash-can, then Confirm.

  3. Review your order

    • Tap View your order or the Basket icon. Each line shows price, any VAT, extras, and quantity controls.

C. Submit the ticket

  1. Submitting

    • On the Basket screen, check the Subtotal, VAT and Total at the bottom, then tap Submit.

    • The order moves to Active orders with status Submitted, and you’ll see Collect payment and Collect later options.

Troubleshooting

  • “+” button stays grey – Enter a valid amount (Fast charge) or add at least one menu item.

  • Wrong VAT showing – Open the VAT toggle again and pick or enter the correct rate, then Confirm.

  • Item won’t remove – Reduce the quantity to 1; the becomes a trash-can icon, which deletes the line.

  • Leaving with items in the basket – Press Back → choose Cancel to keep the draft, or Confirm to clear and abandon the order.

FAQ

Can I mix Fast charge and Products on one ticket?
Yes—add a Fast charge line, then switch to Products and add menu items; everything appears in the same basket.

What happens after I tap Submit?
The order is marked Submitted and listed under My orders and All orders. You can collect payment immediately or later.

Is partial payment supported?
Not at the ordering stage; payment is collected in full when you choose Collect payment.

Why do I get an error when selecting “Pay £x”?
Confirm that you have already added items to your basket. If you are on Fast charge section, press the +-icon after typing in the charge amount, trying to press pay before then leads to an error.
