Hand the prepared order to another registered device so payment can be taken there without rebuilding the basket.

Who can do this?

Owners, Managers and Staff can dispatch an order through the staff-side POS flow. The target device must belong to the active shop and be available through the device API.

Where to do it

Continue a basket to payment and choose Other device.

Dispatch payment

  1. Review the order number, items, amount, guest and table.
  2. Choose the payment behavior. A device outside terminal mode can let the operator Pick on device or receive a supported payment method. A device in terminal mode uses the terminal-compatible method list and defaults to Tap to Pay when required.
  3. Select the target device.
  4. Choose Send to device.
  5. Watch the dispatch status while web polls for the receiving device’s response.
  6. If the device reports busy, review the conflict confirmation before forcing another send. Avoid interrupting a legitimate payment already in progress.
  7. On an error, use Try again for the same order rather than creating a duplicate.
Configuration is locked while dispatching/polling so the target and method do not change mid-request. The API can reuse an active dispatch for the same order. If a terminal is occupied by another acknowledged order, it returns the busy dispatch and order IDs. Force send only after checking the physical terminal. Sending a push does not itself mark the order paid; web waits for the resulting order status.

Platform notes

The receiving Management Native App or terminal performs the selected payment against the same backend order. Web tracks the dispatch to completion. Once the order is Completed, the other-device view can expose the digital receipt panel.

Market notes

The dispatch model is shared in GB and Germany. Actual payment methods depend on target device mode and store configuration, not language.

Troubleshooting

If the target reports busy, check the physical device and the conflicting order before forcing another send. If delivery fails, retry the same order from the error view; sending again does not by itself mark the order as paid.
