Rooms group physical booking tables and provide the structure for filters, allocation priority, and floor layouts. Owners and Managers can create and maintain them from one shop-scoped page.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can use the described parts. Only Owners and Managers have configuration write access; Staff access remains read-only or operational. API authorization is authoritative.

Where

Open Settings → Rooms & tables. Use search or the room filter chips to find the relevant section. Room actions are available in the room header and its overflow menu.

Steps

  1. Choose Add room, enter a unique non-empty name, and select a priority from Highest to Lowest.
  2. Save the room, then use its section to add or assign tables and combined tables.
  3. To change a room, open the edit control and update its name or priority.
  4. Choose Edit layout only for spatial design; it does not edit the room’s name or allocation priority.
  5. To remove a room, choose Delete and review the confirmation before proceeding.

Platform notes

The API permits Owner and Manager writes; Staff can read room data where operational screens require it but the Admin management navigation is hidden. Room names must be unique within the store. Deleting a room does not delete its booking or combined tables: their room reference is cleared, so they move to the unassigned group.

Market notes

The model and controls are shared by GB and DE. Names are merchant-entered and are not translated automatically. Use labels that staff in the shop understand, while keeping canonical help content in the selected help-center language.

Troubleshooting

A duplicate name or invalid value is rejected by the API. If a deleted room seems to have lost tables, clear filters and open Unassigned. If a room filter disappears, the page safely falls back to All. Reload before repeating a failed create to avoid accidental duplicates.
