Who can do this?
Owners, Managers, and Staff can perform this flow. Campaign administration remains limited to Owners and Managers.Where to do it
Use Promotions in the Management web app for the labels in this guide. Equivalent promotion screens also exist in the Management mobile app. POS actions happen in the cart; guest-facing effects appear in the guest web store.Steps
- Build the order in Point of sale and select Add discount in the cart.
- Choose a currently applicable promotion for scheduled or scheduled-and-code modes, or enter a voucher code for a code-capable promotion.
- Review the preview. Item-scoped discounts affect only eligible lines; fixed and percentage values use the stored promotion rules.
- Continue to create or update the order. Tapp persists the promotion on the server before payment and the order summary shows the saved discount.
- To replace it, remove the current discount first, then apply another. Only one promotion discount is allowed per order.
Platform notes
Web and mobile use the same promotion and authorization rules from the API. The guest app lists only guest-visible, currently applicable offers; voucher links can carry a code into the basket. A control shown on one platform never expands the server-enforced role.Market notes
The flow is the same for GB and Germany. Money is displayed in the store currency, and schedules are evaluated in the store’s local time zone. Check the selected store, currency, date, and time rather than relying on country assumptions. This guide reflects the product on 17 July 2026. The API-enforced role and saved promotion state are authoritative; local previews are guidance and the server validates the rules again when the change is persisted.Troubleshooting
- A visible promotion can still be rejected when the schedule changed, minimum spend is unmet, the cap is exhausted, the order is no longer editable, payment is in flight, or no item qualifies.
- If Promotions appears in a Staff sidebar, that does not allow Staff to create or manage campaigns. Staff permission here is limited to the API-authorized POS redemption flow.
