Regular opening hours define the recurring weekly schedule for a shop. Tapp supports separate venue and kitchen schedules, closed days, national holidays, and more than one opening period per day.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can use this workflow. Permission is always evaluated for the selected shop. A role without write access cannot bypass the restriction by opening a route directly; API authorization remains authoritative.

Where

Open Shop overview, select the shop, and scroll to Opening hours. Use the Venue/Kitchen tabs when both schedules are available.

Steps

  1. Choose Venue or Kitchen before editing so the change reaches the intended schedule.
  2. For a day, use the toggle to mark it open or closed. Select the displayed hours to edit an open day.
  3. Enter opening and closing times. Add periods for split service and remove periods you no longer need.
  4. Save the day with the check control, or cancel to discard that day’s draft. Repeat for other days.

Platform notes

The browser rejects missing times, zero-length periods, and overlapping periods. The API performs overlap validation again and replaces the saved periods for that day atomically. If no dedicated kitchen schedule is configured, effective kitchen hours can inherit the venue schedule; a later kitchen schedule makes it independent.

Market notes

GB and DE use the same editor, but day names, time inputs, timezone, and public-holiday resolution follow shop context. The National holidays row is resolved from the shop’s holiday country and subdivision, not merely the interface language.

Troubleshooting

If a period will not save, ensure both times are present and no two periods overlap. Overnight periods are supported by the backend when closing is at or before opening, but the Admin editor treats equal endpoints as invalid; use a clear intended schedule. Check special hours if a specific date still looks different.
