You can leave a digital tip from the guest ordering page when the shop and your payment support it. Tipping is optional. A rating is separate from a tip and does not add money to your order.

Who can do this?

The guest linked to the paid or completed order can use its tip form. The order must have a positive amount and no existing tip. Cash orders cannot use this digital form.

Where to do it

Return to your order’s progress page and choose Leave tip when offered. Keep using the same order and browser tab. Opening a different order does not recover the first order’s tip request.

Choose an amount

  1. Wait while the page checks your order and loads current choices.
  2. Select an offered percentage or fixed amount. Review the actual amount and currency shown.
  3. If Custom tip is available, enter an amount within the displayed limits. The minimum custom amount is 1.00 in the order’s currency, and the tip cannot exceed the order amount.
  4. Review Total, which shows the selected tip amount. Select Give tip once and wait for the result.
  5. Check for Already tipped and the confirmed amount before treating the tip as paid.
The shop controls the available suggestions and whether custom entry is allowed. Choices can change, and some payment types cannot be adjusted to add a tip even when the order is paid. Follow the current message rather than assuming every card payment supports an extra tip. You can leave the page without submitting a tip. Order more starts a new order; it is not a way to retry or confirm a tip for the previous one.

Check an uncertain result

Tip confirmation needed means a tip was attempted but payment is not confirmed. It does not prove the shop received the request. Choose Check again to reload the current status. This checks the order; it does not submit another tip. If Tip already recorded appears, the order already has a tip record. A pending tip is not confirmation that payment succeeded. The form blocks another attempt in the same tab while the result is unresolved. This protection can survive a page reload when the browser allows saved data. Do not switch browsers, clear saved data or start another order to bypass this protection. If the result stays unclear, ask the shop or Tapp support to check the existing order before you offer the tip again another way.

Ratings

When the order is completed and the shop allows ratings, you may also be able to rate your server. Selecting a star submits the rating separately. It does not confirm a tip or determine who receives a share of it. The selected stars fill before saving is confirmed, and this page does not show a separate rating success or failure message. Empty stars after reopening do not prove the earlier rating was lost. Ask the shop to check if you are unsure; do not submit a tip to try to save a rating.

Platform notes

These steps describe the guest ordering page after payment. The tip prompt on a staff member’s mobile device is a separate flow. If you already tipped during checkout, this page does not offer a second tip for the same order.

The flow applies to supported payments in Great Britain and Germany. Use the currency displayed for your order. An available form does not guarantee that the payment can still be adjusted when you submit it.

Troubleshooting

For a custom amount, enter digits with a point or comma and up to two decimal places, without a currency symbol. Returning to the custom field clears its previous entry; check the amount again before submitting. If choices are unavailable or have changed, choose Check again and review the refreshed amounts. If order details cannot be confirmed, wait or ask the shop for help. Do not interpret a missing tip button as a request to pay the order again.
