Who can do this?
Owners and Managers can view these reports for their shop. Staff reporting access does not include this analysis.Where to do it
- In the web app or mobile app, open Analytics and choose Menu & Products.
- Check the shop and choose All categories. Selecting a category hides the product-mix chart and item-revenue comparison.
- Choose the main reporting period for Product mix. Avg basket size shows the average number of items per included order, with item and order totals underneath.
- Find Menu engineering, the chart comparing items. Read the vertical-axis label and the cost-coverage note before interpreting it.
- Hover over a dot on the web, or tap it on mobile, for the item, category, units sold, value and group. On mobile, tap again to clear the selection.
- Use Expand chart. Scroll to zoom on the web; pinch to zoom on mobile. Drag to move around. Reset zoom restores the full view; close it to return.
Read the item comparison
Each dot represents an item sold in the period. The horizontal axis shows units sold; the vertical axis depends on recorded costs:- Profitability (margin) uses the item’s current base price minus its recorded cost per item. This is a per-item amount, not total profit for the period or the exact margin on every historical sale.
- Revenue (period total) shows the item’s revenue during the period. The whole chart uses this view if any included item lacks a recorded cost. A high revenue position does not establish a high margin.
Changing the period or recording costs can change an item’s group. Check prices and costs before acting.
