Share your preferred hours and working days before your manager prepares the schedule. Preferences help with planning. They do not reserve shifts, guarantee hours or approve time off.

Who can do this?

Staff can submit their own preferences when an Owner or Manager has opened registration for the month. Ask your manager to open the month if it is missing from the available choices.

Where to do it

In the mobile app, open Work, find My preferences and select View all. Check that you are viewing the intended shop before entering your availability.

Fill in a month

  1. Under Fill Preference, find the month marked Registration open and select Fill in.
  2. Enter Desired hours as a whole number from 0 to 360 for the entire month. Do not leave the field blank. Check the displayed number, especially after pasting: punctuation and minus signs are removed.
  3. Choose Desired working days. Select weekdays to include those days throughout the month, or select individual calendar dates.
  4. Check every selected date. Selecting an already fully selected weekday removes its dates. All selects every day, or clears them when all are already selected.
  5. Check the month, hours and dates before choosing Submit preferences.
  6. Wait for the confirmation, then open History Preferences and use View to check the saved response.
The calendar starts on Sunday and stays within the selected month. Faded dates from adjacent months cannot be selected. Tap a selected date again to remove it. To enter preferences for another month, leave this form and open that month separately. If no dates are selected, submitting records every day in the month. Clearing the calendar therefore does not mean that you are unavailable. Discuss a month you cannot work with your manager and use the time-off request flow where appropriate. When a month has no saved response, the form can start with your latest earlier submitted hours and days. Dates follow weekday position: the first Monday becomes the new month’s first Monday. A fifth occurrence is skipped if the new month has only four. Review these starting values before submitting; opening the form does not submit them.

Change a submitted response

Submitted preferences are read-only for staff. Ask an Owner or Manager to correct the hours or dates for you. Reopening registration does not unlock a response you already submitted. A failed submission can leave a saved draft. A draft is not a submitted response; reopen it and check the details before trying again while registration is open. If registration closes before you submit, you cannot send your remaining draft. Ask your manager whether collection can reopen. Do not assume that closing the form has submitted your changes.

Platform notes

These steps describe the staff view in the mobile app. Managers collect and correct team responses through their management tools. Check your actual assigned schedule separately after planning.

Market notes

The same flow applies in Great Britain and Germany. Preferences cover the selected shop’s calendar month; check dates carefully when preparing several months.

Troubleshooting

  • If submission fails, reopen the month and check the status inside the form before retrying. A closed draft can appear in history with a misleading Submitted row label; the form still shows Draft.
  • If the month is closed, ask your manager about the registration period.
  • If hours are rejected, enter a whole number from 0 to 360 without a decimal or a minus sign.
  • If your saved response still looks wrong, contact your manager or Tapp support.
