Use the tip summary to review amounts assigned to a person in the selected shop. The total includes recorded shares and subtracts reversals such as refunded tips. It does not confirm a payout to the person’s bank account or a cash handover.

Who can do this?

Staff can see their own total on the staff home screen. Owners and Managers can review a team member’s total from that person’s details. Staff cannot use this report to see other people’s shares or the shop’s unassigned tips.

Where to do it

In the mobile app, Staff open the home screen and find My tips. Owners and Managers open Team, choose the person and find Tips in their details. Select the intended shop before comparing amounts.

Choose a period

  1. Find the tip summary and wait for it to load.
  2. Select 7D, 1M, 3M or 1Y.
  3. Read the amount in the shop’s currency.
  4. On My tips, check the comparison with the preceding period when a percentage is shown.
  5. Revisit or refresh the screen to bring the period up to date.
The choices cover the last 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, ending when the period is refreshed. They are not calendar weeks, months or years. Use the same period and refresh time when comparing two views.

Understand what the total includes

A share belongs to the period when it was assigned. A later reversal belongs to the period when that reversal was recorded. For example, a tip assigned last month and refunded this week can reduce this week’s total even though the original positive amount is outside the selected period. A manual assignment made today can appear in today’s period even if the guest left the tip earlier. Unassigned tips do not count toward anyone’s personal total until they are assigned. A zero total can mean there were no shares, or that positive shares and reversals cancelled each other out. A negative total can occur when reversals outweigh new shares. Do not treat either result as proof that no guest left a tip.

Read the comparison

My tips compares the selected window with the immediately preceding window of the same length. If the previous total was zero, no percentage is shown. The team member’s detail summary does not show this personal trend comparison. Changes in the sharing rule, assignments and refunds can affect the comparison. It is not a measure of payment success, hours worked or money paid out.

Platform notes

Review an employee in the web app

As an Owner or Manager, open the staff page and select a person. Under Statistics, choose a period and read Tips. This is the person’s net assigned amount, with the same treatment of reversals described above. Choose the last 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. These are rolling periods, not calendar months. Returning focus to the browser refreshes the end of the reporting window. The web summary has no personal trend percentage. Managers review unassigned tips separately on the staff page. A tip collected for the shop and the share assigned to one person are different amounts.

Market notes

These views apply in Great Britain and Germany. Check the currency and selected shop before comparing totals across locations.

Troubleshooting

A person’s summary can become unavailable if the app cannot confirm them in the current shop team. Reopen their details and check the shop. This does not prove their recorded shares were removed. If Tips could not be loaded appears, choose Try again. A loading error is not a zero balance. If a share is missing, check the period, shop, any later assignment and refunds. Ask an Owner or Manager to review an unassigned tip. Contact Tapp support if the amount remains unexplained.
