Create a price list when you want a named set of prices, such as a different menu for a particular service. Each item keeps its standard price, with optional prices for the lists you create.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can create, rename and archive price lists and edit their prices. Staff can use available lists at the till but cannot manage their contents.

Where to do it

Open Menu in the web app and select Price lists.

Create or rename a list

  1. Enter a clear, unique name of up to 100 characters for the list.
  2. Select the plus button or press Enter.
  3. Close the price-list window and use Menu’s list view in a wide window to find the new column.
  4. Enter the list price for each item that should differ from its standard price.
  5. Press Enter or leave the field to save the amount.
  6. To rename a list, reopen Price lists, select the pencil icon and save the new name with the checkmark or Enter.
Enter a positive amount with up to two decimal places, using a decimal point or comma and no currency symbol. A blank price-list cell means the item sells at its standard price. Clearing a saved amount returns it to the standard price; it does not make the item free. Changing or clearing a price in the menu table also removes any separate VAT choice for that item in the list. If you need a separate VAT choice, edit the price and VAT together in the item editor and check both after saving.

Archive a list

Open Price lists, select the archive action beside the list and read the confirmation. Archiving removes it from active choices. Orders already submitted keep their recorded prices. Draft baskets are different: when submitted, their items are priced again using current prices. If the saved list was archived, those draft lines can return to standard prices. Check the final basket and total before payment. Review the guest and device defaults afterward if they used that list.

Platform notes

Manage lists in the web app. How they apply to guests and devices is configured separately under Where price lists apply. Giving a list a name such as Happy hour does not create an automatic schedule.

Market notes

Amounts use the shop’s currency. Review any separate VAT choice for the shop’s market before using the list for sales.

Troubleshooting

If a name is already used, choose another name or edit the existing active list. Archived lists still reserve their names. If saving a price fails, check the amount and retry. A below-cost warning asks you to review the price before saving; cancel if you entered the wrong amount.
