Check recorded attendance before correcting it.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can correct their shop’s team attendance. Staff can manage their own check-ins, but cannot change another person’s records here.

Where to do it

In the web app, select the shop, open ShiftsCheck-ins, select the person for Manage attendance. In the mobile app, open WorkTeam check-insView all. The dashboard previews only three people. Choose Today or History, scroll for more and select the person. For a shift with one person, you can select the whole card. Mobile History initially covers the previous 60 days. Narrow it with From and To; when both are set, keep them no more than 60 days apart. History excludes shifts ending today. Pull down to refresh. A scheduled duration or work-role label on a card does not prove someone attended; check the person’s record. A missing valid check-in shows Late from the scheduled start and Missed from the scheduled end. Verify actual attendance.

Correct times in the web app

  1. Check the person’s name, shift date and hours.
  2. Enter the actual start under Check-in time. A missing start may default to the scheduled time. Select Modify check-in, confirm and wait for Check-in updated.
  3. Enter the actual finish under Check-out time. Without a saved finish, the suggested value is the earlier of the scheduled end and now. Check it carefully.
  4. If Why is this check-out late? appears, enter a reason. Closing an active record more than 15 minutes after its scheduled end requires this explanation.
  5. Select Modify check-out, confirm and wait for Check-out updated. Verify both saved times.
Save a missing start before entering a finish. Start and finish save independently. Neither can be in the future, and the finish cannot precede the start. Updating a completed record’s start keeps its finish. Updating its finish does not request a new late reason or replace the existing reason shown in the web form.

Platform notes

In the mobile app, under Manage attendance, choose Modify check-in or Modify check-out, select the actual time, choose Confirm, then confirm the person and time. Check the refreshed record after each action. The picker uses five-minute steps and only enables confirmation when its value changes. If you need to save the unchanged suggested time or a time you cannot select accurately, use the web app. Do not enter an inaccurate time to enable confirmation. A missing finish defaults to the scheduled end, which may still be in the future. For an unfinished record, the mobile form asks for a reason once the current time is over 15 minutes past the scheduled end—even when entering an earlier finish. Enter it before opening Modify check-out.

Mark a record as missing

Choose Mark as missing and confirm only when the record should stop counting as valid attendance. This cancels an existing record, including a completed one, and keeps the shift assignment. Without a record, it creates nothing. Adding the check-in again reactivates the cancelled record with a new start and clears its old finish and reason. Enter the actual finish separately if needed. Adding a missing check-in can also close the person’s offer and reject requests to take that shift. The mobile Delete shift action removes the whole shift. It is not an attendance correction; read the deletion guide first.

Market notes

Great Britain and Germany use the shop’s local time. Check-in uses the shift’s start date; an early-morning check-out can fall on the following day. If the form cannot represent the correct day, contact Tapp support.

Troubleshooting

After an error or outdated result, reopen the refreshed entry and check what saved before retrying. If another active check-in blocks a correction, resolve the actual attendance with the person first. A loading error does not mean there are no records.
