Use the repeat guest rate to see how many guests in a reporting period had ordered from your shop before that period. The figure depends on orders being linked to guest profiles.

Who can do this?

Owners and Managers can open this report for their shop. Staff access to guest profiles does not include this Analytics report.

Where to do it

In the mobile app, open Analytics and choose Guests & Retention. Check the selected shop before comparing figures.

Read the report

  1. Choose the main reporting period.
  2. Read Repeat guest rate and the returning and total guest counts beneath it.
  3. Tap the information button beside the figure for its explanation. Read any additional notes or small-sample warning before relying on the percentage.
  4. Change the period if you want another comparison. Refresh the report to request updated figures.
Each guest profile with an included order during the period counts once in the total. More orders from the same profile do not increase the guest count. A profile counts as returning only if it also has an included order from before the start of the selected period. For example, if four guest profiles have included orders during the period and one also ordered before it, the repeat guest rate is 25%. A guest placing two orders for the first time during the selected period still does not count as returning for that period.

Understand what is included

The report uses orders currently paid or completed, linked to a guest profile. Refunded orders and orders without a guest association do not contribute to the guest counts. Both the current-period orders and the earlier orders are checked for the selected shop and its reporting currency. Changing the period changes the boundary between earlier and current orders, so the same guest can count differently. A refund can also change whether a guest has a qualifying earlier order. The rate describes recorded guest profiles, not every person who visited. Orders without a linked profile leave gaps. Separate profiles for the same person can split their history. Use the existing guest profile when attaching a guest to an order, after checking their details.

Platform and market notes

These steps cover the mobile report. Compare shops only after checking the period, currency and how consistently orders are linked to guests. The report does not combine a person’s history across shops.

Troubleshooting

A dash means the percentage is unavailable; it is not a confirmed zero. Use the retry action if the report shows an error, or refresh and check the selected shop and period. For an unexpected result, review the guest’s profile and order history and check the guest association and order status. Guest-profile history can use different periods and counting rules, so its totals need not match this report. Contact Tapp support if expected orders remain missing.
